Investigation of thermal dynamics for different leading configuration in hybrid laser-MIG welding

For hybrid laser-MIG welding of aluminum alloy, the weld bead quality is decided by thermal dynamics in molten pool. In order to analyze influence leading configuration on behavior and mass transfer, a three-dimensional numerical model established. model, combined utilized simulate multiple reflections Fresnel absorption laser beam. The laser-arc interaction considered plasma shrinked for arc-leading configuration. Surface tension, electromagnetic force, buoyancy are investigate fluid flow pattern, droplet impact arc pressure taken into account track free surface. different configurations, temperature velocity field, together with concentration distribution magnesium zinc compared analyzed. results show that transport phenomena pool strongly affected (AL) configuration, it easier get larger penetration.
